Area 4 Partners Support Education Project and Safe Reopening of Schools in Palma District

The Governor of Maputo province, Júlio Paruque, led, in the district of Manhiça, the closing ceremony of the school feeding projecy “Food for Knowledge (FFK) of Planet Aid and Implemented by ADPP in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Human Development (MINEDH) in four districts of Maputo province over eight years, the initiative was financed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The Resilient Livelihood Recovery Project, a program UNDP and the Mozambican government and implemented, amongst others, by ADPP in coordination with the Office of Post-cyclone Reconstruction (GREPOC), carried out this week, under the Recovery Mechanism (MRF), the delivery of self-employment starter kits to thirty women’s groups composed of ten people each.

The consortium led by ADPP and composed by the Association for the Promotion of Rural Development (APRODER), h2n and Rovuma University (UniRovuma), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Human Development (MINEDH), officially launched on November 5th, in the city of Nampula, the project called “USAID/Apoiar a Ler! “Apoiar a Ler!” aims to improve the quality of education and educational outcomes of children through the mobilization of parents and guardians.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Government of Mozambique and other partners, established the Recovery Mechanism (MRF) as a response measure to cyclones IDAI and Kenneth, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups and women, through livelihood support and economic empowerment, and the improvement of housing and community infrastructure.
