Integrated Education Project trains 57 teachers in School Management

The Integrated Education Project, implemented by ADPP in Cabo Delgado and funded by Eni Rovuma Basin, last week delivered fifty-seven (57) certificates to the same number of teachers who participated in the School Management Training Programme in the city of Pemba.

On the occasion, the Governor of Cabo Delgado Province, Valige Tauabo, acknowledged the efforts of ADPP and its partners to be always present in the reconstruction of the province after the terrorist attacks and considered that the objective of this training is to improve the teaching and learning process.

"This ceremony marks the culmination of a training process for 57 teachers and 7 managers of primary schools in Kuparata and Kumilamba, within the scope of the partnership between the government and Cabo Delgado and ENI Rovuma Basin through ADPP, whose objective is to improve the teaching and learning process. We are sure that in this training, which lasted approximately 22 months, the trainees were provided with knowledge in the areas of teaching and learning as well as school management as a way to increase pedagogical skills," said the Governor of Cabo Delgado Province, Valige Tauabo.

For his part, the General Director of Eni Rovuma Basin, Giorgio Vicini, said that in addition to training teachers, ENI Rovuma Basin provides school meals on a daily basis.

"In addition to the training of teachers and managers, Eni Rovuma Basin recently offered various school materials and equipment to pachymetric schools, and provides daily school meals to about 4,000 children," said Giorgio Vicini, General Director of ENI-Rovuma Basin.On behalf of the teachers, Bibiana Ribeiro, praised the initiative of the Government and the partner on teacher training.

"On behalf of the trained teachers, I would like to thank you for the support you have provided us with regard to capacity building and continuous training, involving teachers and school managers, in the field of school management in matters such as the manager's work culture, supervision and monitoring of the activities of the pedagogical and administrative areas, construction of the school development project, planning cycle of life of the school institution, change management, work and learning fees for the development of the sectors"- said Bibiana Ribeiro, representative of the Teachers.

The Training Programme lasted 22 months and ran from October 2021 to July 2023, during this period, several topics were taught in the areas of teaching and learning, as well as school management, as a way to increase the pedagogical and management skills of the trainees.

The implementation of this project is part of Eni Rovuma Basin's commitment to contribute to inclusive, equitable and quality education, including the expansion of learning opportunities, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. An initiative that falls within the scope of the Sustainability Plan of the Coral South FLNG Project and the Integrated Education Programme that Eni Rovuma Basin is implementing through ADPP and in partnership with the Government of Cabo Delgado.
